Prove — and get rewarded for — the clean energy your solar system generates.

What is a REC?
A Renewable Energy Certificate represents the environmental attributes of one megawatt-hour (1 MWh) of electricity generated from a renewable source such as solar. RECs let that clean-energy value be tracked, verified and traded separately from the electricity itself.

How RECs work
As your solar system generates electricity, it also generates RECs. You can retire them to substantiate your own renewable-energy use, or sell them to organisations that want to offset their carbon footprint — turning your roof into an additional source of value.

For businesses
RECs give businesses a credible, auditable way to back renewable-energy and carbon-reduction commitments — useful for ESG reporting, tenders and stakeholder expectations. Amounts and eligibility depend on the prevailing market.

How Voltaris helps
We help you understand whether registering and monetising RECs makes sense for your system, and guide the registration, tracking and sale process so you can benefit without becoming an energy-market expert.

FAQs
The electricity powers your property; the REC represents the 'green' attribute of that generation. They can be kept together or the REC can be sold separately.
Potentially yes — solar generation can produce RECs. Whether it is worthwhile depends on system size and the current market; we will advise honestly.
No. REC values move with market demand and are not guaranteed. All figures should be treated as illustrative and subject to confirmation.
No. You can retire them to back your own renewable-energy claims, or sell them — the choice is yours.
